Defoamer

General Description:
D-Foam-R is a clear, colorless liquid. The active components are a blend of alcohols and esthers in a solvent base.

Recommended Uses:
D-Foam-R is used in all brines to limit foaming due to entrained air during circulation and mixing at the surface.

Major Advantages:
D-Foam-R is soluble across the density range of oil field brines.
D-Foam-R is easy to apply. No special mixing required.
D-Foam-R does not add solids or precipitates to the brine and is compatible with all Shellco additives and most other brine additives.

Safety and Handling:
Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid inhalation or ingestion. If exposed, wash skin with soap and water, flush eyes with water and seek medical assistance. If ingested, seek medical assistance. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reusing. Have adequate ventilation or use proper respirator. Wear protective face shield.
Dispose of according to applicable regulations.
Consult MSDS prior to use.

Packaging:
D-Foam-R is available in 5 gallon plastic containers.

Availability and Pricing:
D-Foam-R can be purchased from any Shellco International stock point or from the main Shellco Plant in Houston, Texas. Standard pricing is per 5 gallon container.

Recommended Treatment:
For most applications, D-Foam-R is used at a rate of one 5 gallon container per 100 barrels of treated brine or as needed to minimize foaming.

Isolate for ½ mile in all directions if tank, rail car, or tank truck is involved in fire (1993 Emergency Response Guidebook, RSPA P 5800.6 Guide Page 26). Cool containers with flooding amounts of water, apply from as far a distance as possible. Avoid breathing vapors, keep upwind.
